5G wireless networks are going to usher in a new age of higher data rates, Industry 4.0, IoT devices, and driverless cars. To support the millions of devices invading our lives we must first take all of our supporting infrastructure to the next level. This transformation will have a significant impact on Communication Service Provider (CSP) assets and infrastructure, and those companies who have a solid Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) practice in place will have the most cost efficient roll-out.
MDSi is pleased to announce that we have achieved the Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization (ACAS).
In our ongoing efforts to support our local community, MDSi is excited to announce the launch of our brand-new internship program. Working closely with the faculty of Forsyth County School's "Work-based Learning Program", MDSi was able to find the perfect candidate for one of our newly opened roles so far. We are excited about being able to partake in our local students’ education to ensure their future success.
As part of MDSi's initiative to give back to our community, we teamed up with a local organization to provide toys, clothing and other supplies to several families to ensure they had a joyous holiday. Both our Tampa and Alpharetta offices participated which resulted in over 25 children and 20 moms receiving several gifts to enjoy. Each department was assigned a family with each member’s wish list and then the MDSi elves went to work! The teams did a phenomenal job making sure the children and moms each got as many of the requested items as possible. At MDSi, we foster a "family" culture and couldn't be prouder of our amazing team members who donated their time and resources for this local charity.
It’s the new year and I’m reflecting on one of the hottest technology trends in the networking space - Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN). If you’re thinking that now is the time for SD-WAN, you may need to consider if the solution is ready to be adopted into your production network. Most manufacturers with an edge WAN device are claiming to support SD-WAN, and there is a lot of change in this market. Cisco, the market leader for routers, just acquired Viptella earlier this year. Cisco’s IWAN solution which is based on older but, proven features like: AVC, PfR, and DMVPN with DNA Center will continue to be supported but, Viptella will be the leading solution going forward. We should expect integration into Cisco’s DNA Center as soon as 2018.
